What is Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)?

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is any clothing, helmet, goggles, or other specialized equipment designed to protect the wearer from physical hazards, injury, or illness in the workplace. PPE acts as a physical barrier from potential hazards. It is often considered the last line of defense when other safety measures are not feasible or sufficient.

Common examples of PPE include:

Hand Protection: Work gloves (leather, synthetic, or anti-vibration) to protect hands from cuts, scrapes, splinters, and chemical exposure.
Foot Protection: Safety shoes or boots with steel or composite toes to protect feet from falling objects, compression, and puncture hazards from nails or sharp debris.
Eye Protection: Safety glasses or goggles to shield the eyes from dust, flying debris, or liquids, especially during assembly or light demolition tasks.
